Emily is our Licensed Masters Social Worker specializing in Child and Adolescent therapy who strives to make sure her clients feel safe, heard, and advocated for. She is an energetic, positive, and compassionate therapist who hopes to guide individuals through their healing journey. Emily has a passion for helping children find ways to express themself and teaching them how to communicate their needs. To do this, Emily is working towards her Play Therapy Credential and plans on using Play Therapy as the main tool in her Therapy. She is also a licensed Yoga instructor and blends yoga techniques, such as mindfulness and meditation to help others gain acceptance and confidence.

As a social worker, Emily has 2 years of experience working in schools as a social worker, where she worked with children, K-5, with Anxiety, Depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and at-risk youth. Through this position, she was able to see individuals grow in all aspects of their life and knew she wanted to keep providing the tools to help others grow, despite their trauma.

Emily received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Kansas State University and her Masters’ degree in Social Work from Wichita State University. During her time in college, she was a Girls on the Run coach for 2 years, where she taught young women in 3rd-6th grade, self-love, and how to be confident and accepting of all cultural backgrounds.

Another tool Emily uses is her Therapy Dog, Gamma. Gamma is a 1-year-old lab who was trained by CARES Inc. as a Professional Therapy dog. Gamma’s goal is to offer emotional support to clients working through trauma. Through her calming presence and companionship gained through working with others, she assists others with overcoming anxiety and depression.

Emily and Gamma cannot wait to start the healing process with others and use play therapy, and mindfulness practices to help them reach their full potential and self-love.
