Our marriage and family therapist, Jean, has served as an Executive Mental Health professional in one of the Bay Area’s longest serving, most respected licensed and accredited substance abuse treatment centers serving co-occurring disorders. Ms. Rhea collaborated with Staff, Dean Ornish/MD, and Richard Miller/PhD at St. Vincent De Paul Society of San Francisco, to develop a healthy support, recovery & wellness community for those most under-served and unhoused.  As an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco, Jean teaches Addiction Counseling Studies in the MA/MFT Psychology Program focusing on current best practices including Harm Reduction.  She also brings over thirty years of personal recovery from substance misuse and Complex Trauma to those she is privileged to meet, serve, collaborate with, and teach.  She is the developer of Complex Trauma, Recovery & Growth©, a positive, collaborative, and effective treatment for complex trauma, substance misuse and underlying issues.

Ms. Rhea also is certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy©, or ART, an innovative, evidence-based, and effective eye-movement treatment that provides effective, more rapid recovery for COVID-19 isolation, depression, anxiety, and panic attacks.  Other services available include CBT, DBT, Trauma-Informed Care, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychosynthesis, a spiritually and mindfulness-based counseling & coaching practice.

Jean’s specialties in private practice are to meet people where they are, with compassion and collaboratively – with a focus on trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety and especially co-occurring disorders. She works with individuals, couples & families who have been affected by addiction & trauma, first responders and veterans, the LGTBQIA community, medical professionals, business professionals, students and therapists or professionals who serve traumatized populations.
