Kelsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her BS in Psychology from Pittsburg State University and her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wichita State University. She also became trained in EMDR, a processing therapy, through Compassion Works in 2020. Kelsey continues to take opportunities to become trained in new modalities and expand her education.

Everyone has various challenges and goals that bring them to therapy and Kelsey’s goal as a therapist is to process and plan both of these with you. She notes the privilege she receives in hearing your story. She seeks to validate your experience and help you take charge over your present and future self and abilities. She has a passion for offering an environment free of judgment and describes her room as a safe space for processing, empathy and progress based on your needs and healing journey.

Kelsey has worked closely with the Kansas foster care system, domestic violence shelters, and mental health private practice settings. She describes her therapy style as eclectic, as she draws aspects from multiple approaches. Some of these may include CBT, EMDR, and humanistic approaches. In her experience she has worked with individuals over the age of 10 and a variety of issues including trauma, anxiety, work stress, depression and more.

Taking the first step of coming into therapy can be uncomfortable and vulnerable, and if you’re thinking about taking the first step you have already shown your strength. Kelsey aims to guide and support you through the hard times and celebrate with you in the good. You won’t need to face challenges completely alone; Kelsey will be the first to say, “I got you.”
