Dawn is a Licensed Master Social Worker who received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Newman University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wichita State University. Her work focuses on helping her clients to develop effective coping and self-regulation skills so that they have the opportunity to lead more balanced and satisfying lives. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who believes that all practice should be trauma-informed.

Dawn has experience working with teens and adults with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia spectrum and psychotic disorders, and some personality disorders, as she spent some time as a Crisis Clinician at the Community Mental Health Center. She is particularly passionate about working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses and believes in taking a collaborative approach to helping her clients to reach their goals. She also has extensive experience working in Workforce Development, particularly with young adults and jobseekers with a variety of barriers to employment.

Dawn enjoys research and tries to incorporate new tools and resources into her practice as they are validated and become available. She recognizes that the relationship developed between a therapist and a client is the most important factor in predicting the success of therapy, and so she is committed to actively listening to her clients while providing them with compassionate support in a safe environment. She brings an eclectic approach to her practice, but has studied Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, as well as being certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy.
