Dr. Monica Brooker is a compassionate and dedicated mental health professional spanning over two decades of experience. Her journey has taken her through diverse environments, including more than nine years in Community Mental Health, seven years in private practice, and three years in corrections. Along the way, she has developed a profound understanding of the complexities of human emotions and behaviors, particularly in clients who face self-harming tendencies, trauma, grief, loss, depression, anxiety, and parenting challenges.
Deeply committed to her clients, Dr. Brooker believes in meeting individuals where they are, guiding them gently toward the goals that resonate with their personal journeys. She recognizes that sharing one’s story can be daunting, especially with someone new, and she takes great care to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in her practice. Her office is a “judgment-free zone,” where clients feel safe, valued, and understood.
Dr. Brooker employs a diverse range of therapeutic approaches—drawing from CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, ACT, and solution-focused techniques—ensuring that her methods are tailored to the unique needs of each individual. While she identifies as a generalist, her passion lies in working with adolescents aged 14 and up and adults of all ages, fostering growth and healing in a supportive environment.
