Shaylene Metcalf, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor working toward her clinical licensure to become an LCPC. She is accepting new clients ages 15 and up through private pay and insurance, in-person or via telehealth, with scheduling often available in the same week.
Shaylene earned her Master of Education degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wichita State University after having graduated from Kansas State University with her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. Shaylene has worked in community mental health settings for more than a decade, and started her private practice in 2022.
Shaylene has experience counseling grief, ADHD, trauma, workplace/school stress, anxiety, career development, depression, burnout, disorganization, eating disorders, parent/child relationship navigation, spirituality navigation, and low self-esteem.
Shaylene’s goal is to help her clients find emotional rest during their sessions. She offers a warm and empathetic approach to therapy, rooting her practice approach in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy. Shaylene strives to stay on target with each client to meet their chosen goals in a reasonable time period, while also helping clients to both understand and manage their life stressors and lived experiences.
When not in session, Shaylene enjoys a good book, an iced latte, and spending time outside — preferably all at once!
